Preparation is everything. Neil and Callum were meticulous in their preparations and it shows. In a house, close 100 years old, there will always be the unexpected but their attention to detail has meant that the external decorations will offer good protection against the elements. We are very pleased at the final result. External decorations are always weather dependant, but despite the need for additional maintenance, often found on closer examination and on the older property, these were accommodated within the original cost estimate even though it took a little longer to complete the overall contract. Whilst Paintwise Decorators may not be the cheapest, you get what you pay for! We would be happy to recommend them.

Neil and Callum have recently completed the re-decoration of the outside of our house …. quite a large project which included all the walls (which are pebble-dashed, thus making the job more difficult) barge-boards, soffits, fascias etc. The work was completed totally within plan – they started on the given date and completed the work within the maximum time they had estimated, even though they’d had a couple of days which were ‘rained off’. Throughout the time they were here they were un-intrusive – quite something as the house was surrounded by scaffolding!! They were very clean and tidy and very aware of the fact that they were working on our home, valuing our privacy as much as possible and keenly aware of the need for security. Our house now looks very clean and cared for … helped by a few suggestions from Neil along the way which completed the overall look. We are very pleased with the end result (and it was nice that Neil and Callum also seemed pleased with their work!) and would recommend them; they are not the cheapest but it’s true what they say. you get what you pay for!

Paintwise Decorators have painted and decorated the exterior of our detached house in the past 2 weeks. Their work has been skilled and careful, and they have achieved a high standard. The scaffolding was carefully adapted to allow the car to go in and out of the garage. The work has been carried out thoughtfully, causing the minimum of disturbance. We are delighted with the work carried out in our home by Neil and Callum. We had three rooms decorated in two weeks. Another bedroom has been done apart from the wallpaper which was out of stock and they have arranged to come back as soon as it arrives. Paintwise have recently completed the redecoration of our lounge, hallway, stairs, upstairs landing and conservatory which involved the lining and wallpapering of the walls and ceilings and redecoration of skirting boards, doors, stairway spindles and handrail. I initially employed Neil to redecorate my 2 reception rooms, this included removing the ceiling tiles and wallpaper, replastering the ceilings and walls and repainting. By the time Neil had finished the first reception room I had already asked him to also repaint the walls and ceilings in my kitchen, bathroom and toilet - this decision was easily made having watched Neil work. He was very respectful of my home - taking care to protect parts of the house that were not being decorated - and also very respectful towards me. He would offer advice when asked and was more than happy to answer my numerous questions! In May 2006 I contacted Mr Neil Jackson for a price for some essential exterior redecorations to windows,doors,frames,entrance gates and garage etc. The work was carried out to my complete satisfaction and within the time indicated. Further maintenance work was necessary this spring-to clear blocked gutters and downpipes and also to restore with masonry paint to all exterior rendered surfaces. As the work had just been done one year earlier still looked as if it had just been finished, I had no hesitation in employing Neil again. I have to say Neil has once more completed everything in a clean and tidy and a very workman like way. I am particularly pleased with his ability to work fast without cutting corners or skimping. He also has an Impressive knowledge of the materials in his trade and their application. I would like to say how pleased I have been with the work I have had carried out by Neil Jackson of Paintwise Decorators. I have used Neil's services twice now. Four years ago Neil decorated the entire interior of my house. He worked around me doing two or three rooms at a time so that I could carry on more or less as normal in the rest of the house. Nothing was a problem, he just got on with the job. He encouraged me to check regularly to ensure that I was happy with his work and if he had inadvertently missed something he could put it right as he went. I was delighted with an excellent finished job. This summer Neil decorated the outside of my house. He worked to the same high standards and again I was delighted with the finished job. On both occasions Neil started the work on the date he arranged and finished it in the time he had said it would take. Whilst his prices are not the cheapest they are far from the most expensive. Neil has a very professional approach to his work but at the same time has a friendly and trustworthy personality. I was happy leaving my keys with him and would recommend his work to anyone. I engaged Mr Jackson’s business, Paintwise, to completely re-paint the outside of our home during March 2014. This also entailed some refurbishment work. His initial estimate was realistic for a job of this scope and involved the use of scaffolding. There was some extra work added and recommended. These items were additional costs, but were appropriately discussed and agreed. The work took over two weeks. Once begun, the job was given priority, progressed promptly and completed in a timely and tidy manner – the tradesmen were reliable. We were reassuringly pleased with our choice in terms of the competence of the tradesmen, the quality of the work and Mr Jackson’s handling of the project. On the basis of our experience, we would consider Paintwise for further jobs and recommend others to consider getting advice and quotations from Mr Jackson.

Mr Jackson has completed two jobs in our home, the first in 2008 and the second in 2007.
